The Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, forbade the Companions from going back to their wives at night after long travels. (1) Footnotes: (1) It is preferable to give women time for personal grooming before they meet their husbands. It is also a discouragement from wanting to surprise one's wifeout of mistrust or doubt in her chastity. Click on ḥadīth to read more

While the Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, was sitting in the mosque with a company, three people approached. Two of them went towards the Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, while the third went on his way. When they reached the Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, they greeted [those present]. One of them saw a gap in the circle and sat there, while the other one sat behind. The third had turned away. When the Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, was done, he said, "Shall I tell you about the three people? As for the first, he came to God, so God welcomed him; the second showed modesty, so God repaid him (1); and the third turned away from God, so God turned away from him." Footnotes: (1) i.e. God had mercy on him because he had mercy on others by not wanting to disturb them and sitting at the back. Click on ḥadīth to read more
